Rolling Registration FAQs

We offer rolling registration for Y Programs such as swim lessons, sports, and more. With this approach, participants can join programs any time during the program session and stay enrolled as long as it fits their schedule. Monthly billing and rolling registration make it easier than ever to help you and your family develop skills and explore new interests.

Register Anytime

Enroll in a program whenever you’re ready. New participants are welcomed weekly, as space allows. You may be temporarily placed on the waitlist if space is not available.

Stay Enrolled

Once enrolled, your spot is reserved each month until you cancel or the session ends.

Monthly Billing

Program fees are automatically billed on the 1st of each month, based on the number of class days that month. For example, if your program runs on a Tuesday and there are five Tuesdays in the month, you will be charged for five classes that month.

Start Anytime

If you enroll mid-month, your first month’s fee will be prorated accordingly and will be due at the time of registration.

Cancellations

If you decide to cancel, you will complete the current month and will not be charged moving forward.

Member Perks

Members register first and move to the top of waitlists — staying one step ahead.

Since we offer rolling registration, participants may sign up for programs up until the last day of each session, as space allows. You may be temporarily placed on the waitlist if space is not available.

When you enroll in a program, you will be billed at the time of registration. If you enroll before the program begins, your initial payment covers the upcoming program month, and you will not be billed again when the program starts. After that initial payment, you will be billed on the 1st of each month for continued enrollment until you cancel or the session ends.

For example, if you register for a program in August that begins in September, you will be billed in August for your September enrollment. You will not be billed again in September. Your next payment will be October 1, followed by monthly payments on the 1st of each month.

If you enroll after a program has already started, your first month will be prorated based on the date you enroll. You will then be billed on the 1st of each month moving forward.

Class days and pricing vary slightly from month to month based on the number of days in the month, holidays, and planned break weeks. For example, if your program runs on Tuesdays and there are five Tuesdays in a month, you will be charged for five classes that month.

If the Y cancels a class because of reasons related to inclement weather, instructor illness, or other unforeseen events, we will offer a makeup class or issue a credit to your account that can be applied to a future payment.

Participant absences due to personal scheduling conflicts or illness do not qualify for credit or refund.

Cancelling a program is easy and can be done at any time online through your Granite YMCA account. Just log in, go to AccountActivities, click Billing next to the program, and click Cancel. That’s it!

Once you submit the cancellation request, you will remain enrolled through the end of the current month. Example: If you cancel on October 10, you will continue to participate in the program through the end of October and will not be charged starting in November. Please see our program cancellation instructions for more details.

If you need assistance with your cancellation, the Program Director or Welcome Center will be happy to help.

If you would like to transfer to a different program, please contact your current Program Director. They will provide you with a Program Transfer Form to complete and will take care of the transfer for you.

If the new program has availability, your Program Director will process the transfer and let you know when the change is complete. Please do not cancel your current program or register for the new program on your own.

If you need help identifying a program to transfer to, your Program Director or Welcome Center can help you find an option that works for you.

Participants may reach a point when they are ready to move to a more advanced program due to their ages or increased skill level. When this happens, our staff will help transition your child to the next level when they’re ready.

If an entire class is ready to progress a skill level, the class may be reclassified mid-year while keeping the same participants and instructor.

If a program is full, you’re welcome to join the waitlist. Waitlisted participants will be contacted and given the opportunity to enroll as spots become available. If there is enough interest, additional classes may be added during the session. Please note that YMCA members receive enrollment priority over non-members.

Participants may remain on the waitlist until a space becomes available. When a spot opens, waitlisted participants will be contacted and given 48 hours to accept and confirm their enrollment. If you choose not to enroll within that timeframe, you will be removed from the waitlist. You are always welcome to rejoin the waitlist when you’re ready to participate.

This policy helps ensure that program spots are filled efficiently and that the waitlist remains fair and accessible for all participants.

Not all programs follow the rolling registration model. Rolling registration is available for programs including swim lessons, gymnastics and dance, tennis, martial arts, and climbing and adventure programs.

Programs like competitive teams, masters swimming, adult swim training clubs, private lessons, personal training, health intervention programs, drop-in sports, and kids or teen nights will have their own registration process.

If you’re unsure about a specific program, please connect with the Welcome Center or your Program Director—we’re happy to help!

Parents/guardians of children ages 12 and under must remain in the facility and escort their child to and from all program spaces.

We want you and your family to love your experience at the Y. If a program doesn’t meet your expectations or if you have any questions, please reach out to your Program Director—we’re here to help!
