At the Y, our early learning center understands that a child’s first classroom experiences, starting with infant daycare, can help shape future academic and social growth. Our caring teaching teams at our early childhood center work each day to encourage curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Within our nurturing infant and toddler classrooms, children participate in developmentally appropriate activities that support early childhood education through positive social interaction, fine and gross motor skill development, imaginative play, and early exposure to literacy and mathematics concepts.

As part of our early childhood education programs, children participate in outdoor play, STEM activities, social-emotional learning, creative expression, nutrition activities, healthy snacks, and more in an engaging early learning center environment.

Designed to inspire curiosity and encourage a love of learning, our Pre-K Program helps prepare children for future classroom success through hands-on early childhood education experiences.

Our friendly child care staff creates a safe and supportive environment where children can build confidence, explore new ideas, and strengthen important developmental skills. From outdoor play and physical activity to STEM exploration and creative learning opportunities, every day in our early learning academy encourages growth, teamwork, and discovery.

Our kindergarten program offers part-time and full-time options, along with kindergarten wraparound care that includes transportation to and from select schools.

Our childcare services staff is committed to creating a caring and engaging early learning center environment where children can continue building confidence, independence, and social connections. Through our early childhood education programs, kindergarten and pre-K students participate in enriching activities that support academics, physical fitness, outdoor play, STEM learning, creative arts, and social-emotional growth in a fun and supportive setting.

Our educators receive significantly more professional development training than required by the state. Every staff member is certified in CPR and First Aid, and several team members are trained in Mental Health First Aid and child mental health support. This investment in our staff helps ensure children receive the highest level of care, guidance, and support every day.

Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks are provided daily and prepared in-house. Families This allows families to save time, reduce costs, and gain peace of mind knowing their child is receiving nutritious meals throughout the day.

*Meals and snacks offered vary by program. We offer breakfast, lunch and snacks in Manchester and Somersworth, breakfast and snacks in Concord, and snacks in Goffstown and Londonderry.

Our Early Learning Centers offer bright, engaging classrooms and playground spaces designed to encourage exploration, movement, and age-appropriate outdoor experiences.

Most recently, we completed a full renovation of The Granite YMCA of Somersworth’s Early Learning Center, creating thoughtfully designed spaces and three separate playgrounds that support learning, play, and growth.

Health and wellness are woven into every aspect of our program through active play, healthy habits, and social-emotional learning that helps children build confidence, resilience, and strong relationships.

Families have access to a weekly food pantry* stocked with food and other essentials. We also help families navigate State Child Care Scholarships and offer YMCA financial assistance to make quality early learning accessible to more children.
