Rolling Registration FAQs

We are excited to introduce rolling registration for Y Programs such as swim lessons, sports, and more—starting September 2, 2025. With this new approach, participants can join programs any time during the school year (September – June) and stay enrolled as long as it fits their schedule. Monthly billing and rolling registration make it easier than ever to help you and your family develop skills and explore new interests.

Register Anytime

Enroll in a program whenever you’re ready. New participants are welcomed weekly, as space allows. You may be temporarily placed on the waitlist if space is not available.

Stay Enrolled

Once enrolled, your spot is reserved each month until you cancel or the session ends.

Monthly Billing

Program fees are automatically billed on the 1st of each month, based on the number of class days that month. For example, if your program runs on a Tuesday and there are five Tuesdays in the month, you will be charged for five classes that month.

Start Anytime

If you enroll mid-month, your first month’s fee will be prorated accordingly and will be due at the time of registration.

Cancellations

If you decide to cancel, you will complete the current month and will not be charged moving forward.

Member Perks

Members register first and move to the top of waitlists — staying one step ahead.

Here are some important dates to remember:

  • Programs will be posted online for browsing by 4:00 pm on August 1
  • Registration opens for Granite YMCA members at 7:00 am on August 4
  • Registration opens for non-members at 7:00 am on August 18

Since we are switching to a rolling registration policy, registration will remain open until May 7, 2026. Participants are welcome to register at any time throughout the session, as space allows. You may be temporarily placed on the waitlist if space is not available.

Starting this fall, programs will follow a school-year schedule from September 2, 2025 – June 7, 2026. Summer programming will be offered separately from June 2026 – August 2026.

No programs will be held during the following break weeks and holidays:

  • Veterans Day (November 11, 2025)
  • Thanksgiving Week (November 24 – 30, 2025)
  • December Holiday Week (December 22 – 28, 2025)
  • New Year’s Week (December 29, 2025 – January 4, 2026)
  • February School Vacation (February 23 – March 1, 2026)
  • Easter (April 5, 2026)
  • April School Vacation (April 27 – May 3, 2026)
  • Memorial Day (May 25, 2026)

When you enroll in a program, the first payment will be due at registration and then on the 1st of each month going forward until you cancel or the session ends.

Class days and pricing vary slightly from month to month, based on the number of days in the month, holidays, and planned break weeks. For example, if your program runs on a Tuesday and there are five Tuesdays in the month, you will be charged for five classes that month.

If the Y cancels a class because of reasons related to inclement weather, instructor illness, or other unforeseen events, we will offer a makeup class or issue a credit to your account that can be applied to a future payment.

Participant absences due to personal scheduling conflicts or illness do not qualify for credit or refund.

Cancelling a program is easy and can be done at any time online through your Granite YMCA account. Just log in, go to AccountActivities, click Billing next to the program, and click Cancel. That’s it!

Once you submit the cancellation request, you will remain enrolled through the end of the current month. Example: If you cancel on October 10, you will continue to participate in the program through the end of October and will not be charged starting in November. Please see our program cancellation & transfer instructions for more details.

If you need assistance with your cancellation, the Program Director or Welcome Center will be happy to help.

There’s no direct transfer option for programs, but you can easily switch to a new program by following these steps:

  1. Find your new program: Browse our program offerings online or at your branch to see if your desired class is available.
  2. Register for the new program: If your new program is open and has availability, register whenever you’re ready to start. Your new program will begin immediately unless there is a waitlist.
  3. Cancel your old program: Log in to your Granite YMCA account, go to AccountActivities, click Billing next to the program, and click Cancel. That’s it!

Once you submit the cancellation request, you will remain enrolled through the end of the current month. Example: If you cancel on October 10, you will continue to participate in the program through the end of October and will not be charged starting in November. Please see our program cancellation & transfer instructions for more details.

If you need assistance with your transfer or cancellation, the Program Director or Welcome Center will be happy to help.

Participants may reach a point when they are ready to move to a more advanced program due to their ages or increased skill level. When this happens, our staff will help transition your child to the next level when they’re ready.

If an entire class is ready to progress a skill level, the class may be reclassified mid-year while keeping the same participants and instructor.

If a program is full, you’re welcome to join the waitlist! Spots will be filled as they become available. If there is enough interest, additional classes may be added throughout the session.

Please note that members will receive enrollment priority over non-members.

Not all programs will follow the new rolling registration model. This change applies only to programs that previously ran in 6–7 week sessions—such as swim lessons, gymnastics and dance, tennis, martial arts, and climbing and adventure programs.

Programs like competitive teams, masters swimming, adult swim training clubs, private lessons, personal training, health intervention programs, drop-in sports, and kids or teen nights will continue with their current registration process.

If you’re unsure about a specific program, please connect with the Welcome Center or your Program Director—we’re happy to help!

Parents/guardians of children ages 12 and under must remain in the facility and escort their child to and from all program spaces.

We want you and your family to love your experience at the Y. If a program doesn’t meet your expectations or if you have any questions, please reach out to your Program Director—we’re here to help!
