Postponed: Women’s Locker Room Maintenance at the Manchester Y

The women’s locker room at the YMCA of Downtown Manchester will be closed for renovations starting in late April. Please check back later in the month for more details. We are expecting the locker room to be closed for 8 - 10 weeks. During this time, the women’s locker room, including the lockers, showers, steam room, and sauna, will be inaccessible to members.

Locker Room Facilities

During the closure, those who typically use the women’s locker room will be asked to use the universal locker room. It is important to remember that the universal locker room is a shared space among families and children. Nudity is not allowed. Adults should not move throughout the locker room spaces undressed during renovations. We will also temporarily provide some flexibility on usage of all locker room spaces:

• Youth 6 years and younger will be able to use the locker room of the gender their parent or guardian associates with.
• Youth 7 years and older will be asked to use the locker room of the gender they associate with independently.
• Families will still have access to the universal locker room, however, we strongly recommend coming dressed and prepared for your workout or aquatics program.
• Lockers in the universal locker room are only available for daily use. Locker reservations will not be available.
• Additional private restrooms and changing areas are located behind the Welcome Center and on the pool deck.

Reserved Locks & Belongings

Members must remove all locks and belongings from the women’s locker room before our work can begin. Any items that remain in the locker room once work begins will be donated or discarded.

Sauna & Steam Room

Members looking to use a sauna or steam room during the renovations are encouraged to visit the YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown. The men's sauna and steam room will remain open during the closure.
