For generations, Camp Foss and Camp Mi Te Na have provided young people with life changing summer camp experiences rooted in confidence building, independence, leadership, and a meaningful connection to the outdoors.

As we look to the future, critical infrastructure improvements are necessary to ensure both camps remain safe, accessible, and sustainable for years to come. These investments will allow us to continue providing high quality camp experiences while preserving the natural beauty and integrity of our properties.

Project Phases

The Camp Capital & Investment Campaign will be completed in two phases. Our goal is to raise a total of $1,260,730 to complete both phases.

A History of Camp

History of Camp Foss

Established 1923

YMCA Camp Foss was founded in 1923 following an initiative to establish a County YMCA summer camp, which later became the YMCA of Strafford County. The land was generously donated by James Foss, and the camp’s first eight buildings were constructed after a $3,000 fundraising campaign. Camp Foss became the traditional girls camp it is today in 1965. Since joining The Granite YMCA in 1996, the camp has undergone significant improvements, including major capital projects in 1945, 1998, and 2020. Camp Foss celebrated its 100th season in 2023 and today sits on 210 acres with 34 buildings on site.

History of Camp Mi-Te-Na

Established 1913

YMCA Camp Mi-Te-Na was founded in 1913 after a committee was appointed by Oliver Branch of the Manchester YMCA. The land for camp was purchased for $1,800, and during the first few seasons, camp was only accessible by horse and buggy. Major capital campaigns and improvements took place in 1956, 1973, 1989, 1992, 1998, and 2020. Camp Mi-Te-Na celebrated its 100th season in 2013 and today sits on 60 acres with 40 buildings.
