Capital Campaign
2019 - 2021 Capital Campaign: Celebrating the Past...Building for the Future
In today's pressure-oriented society, camp provides a non-threatening environment for kids to be active and to holistically develop and gain competence in life skills, learn about and enhance their own abilities, and benefit from meaningful participation in a caring place designed just for them. Overnight camp provides a special type of community where kids come together to have fun and make lifelong friends. Within the camp setting, children develop a sense of independence and self-confidence as they try new adventures away from home and practice making their own choices. Summer camps are known for providing a safe environment where children gain self-confidence as they learn new skills. Camp is also a place where children develop social skills - communication, the ability to manage conflict resolution, teamwork and much more. Camp is an experience like no other. That is why The Granite YMCA wants to provide this transformational experience to even more kids every summer.
Our Celebrating the Past...Building for the Future Campaign is designed to make an even greater impact on the youth we serve each summer. By retaining high quality staff, improving facilities and program venues, as well as providing for more low-income kids to attend camp, we will ensure kids will enjoy camp for generations to come. Funds raised will be employed to help improve camper experiences in many ways such as:
MAKING AN IMPACT FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS | |
Increasing opportunities for more low-income kids to attend overnight camp so that they can try new experiences, build relationships, and learn important life skills. | Updating core facilities to improve the camper experience with new camper cabins and bath houses that will serve a greater number of campers. |
Retaining critical long-term seasoned staff to ensure the camper experience is safe, impactful and profund. | Providing a new Welcome Center at Camp Foss that introduces parents and chidlren to camp in a proactive, positive manner. |
Adding exciting new program venues for kids to develop skills and challenge themselves. |
A BRIGHTER FUTURE
As we embark on our second 100 years of camping for Camp Mi-Te-Na and Camp Foss, we need to celebrate the successes of our past while we build for the future. Investing in camps is an investment in the youth of tomorrow and in building future leaders our country needs. Please join us in furthering the development of both camps for the next generations of young people to experience.
