New Center Provides a Place to Be and Belong
Chris Dugan, John Harris (President/CEO), Bob McKenney (Branch Director at the YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown), and Leslee Stewart (Development Director) discuss the opening of the new Center for Youth and Teen Leadership at the YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown.
The state-of-the-art center will provide a broad spectrum of services and programs aimed at area youth. Some of the programs will include leadership development, training, college and career support, healthy lifestyles, academic support, tutoring services and mentoring, and positive peer interactions. During the school hours, The Center will serve a dual purpose by serving as a site for many of the Y's Life Long Wellness Programs, which are aimed at our active older adult population.
The opening of The Center culminates a multi-year Capital Campaign that involved multiple facets. Funding for this project came from the YMCA's "Where Lives Change" capital campaign, a Community Development Block Grant, and grants from the Cogswell Benevolent Trust, Dartmouth Hitchcock, The McInich Foundation, The Langley Family, USI Insurance Services, Hannaford Supermarkets, Citizen Banks, and a host of other generous donors.
