Meet The Team

Dear YMCA Members and Participants,

Please meet our team at The Granite YMCA. Together, we are a dedicated group of individuals connected by a shared passion and commitment to serving our members and strengthening the foundations of our community through youth development, healthy living, social responsibility, and family strengthening. Our talented staff are well vetted through a thorough interview and reference checking process. All must pass a criminal investigative check and go through both formal and on the job training programs. Our association is very proud of all our team members, and invite you to ask any of them for assistance to better improve your Y experience.

Enjoy your YMCA.

YMCA of Downtown Manchester staff

Doug Currier
Executive Director

Born and raised in Haverhill, MA, Doug earned his degree in Physical Education and Recreation from Bridgewater State College. After a summer internship with the YMCA of Greater Boston’s Sandy Island Family Camp on Lake Winnipesaukee, Doug started his career as a Physical Director at the Merrimack Valley YMCA in Lawrence, MA, where he spent the first seven years of his 15-year career as a YMCA professional.

Doug would move on to work as an Executive Director for the Metro North YMCA in Saugus, MA, as well as a stop right here at The Granite YMCA, serving as the Executive Director at the YMCA of Strafford County in Rochester, NH. After a little time away working in the fitness sales industry, Doug is back at the YMCA, where he belongs. He is very excited to be here at the YMCA of Downtown Manchester to support and promote the great programs and services offered by the YMCA, particularly those that support youth and families.

Doug currently resides in Newton, NH with his wife Heather and two children, Grady & Cora. In his off time, he can be found coaching his children’s youth sports teams, rooting on the Boston sports teams, or fishing, especially in the winter months, as ice fishing is his biggest passion of all, aside from his family.

Kathy Raiche-Stephens
Director of Healthy Living

Born and raised in Manchester, NH, Kathy graduated with a BA in Psychology and went on to get her Masters in Education, K – 8th grade. After many years of being a stay at home mom, followed by many years of teaching elementary school, Kathy wanted to take her passion for having a positive impact on our community from teaching children to working in the field of health and wellness with adults.

During the years Kathy was working at home and teaching school she also began to teach classes at the YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown. Starting with a cycling class, she quickly got the bug for teaching fitness. With a genuine love of learning, Kathy began a journey into many fitness certifications, such as TRX, yoga, group exercise, personal training, and many more. Moving from teaching school to teaching fitness classes seemed like a natural transition. Initially Kathy took on the role of the Group Exercise Coordinator at the Manchester Y and is currently the Director of Healthy Living. Most recently, she is grateful to be involved in our Health Intervention programs providing education and membership to our community and beyond.

When Kathy is not working, her biggest enjoyment is spending time with her family and being active with her husband, Gregg. They love to hike, bike, swim, run, camp, ski, snowshoe, etc. In 2018, Kathy and Gregg Hiked Mt. Katahdin as the final climb, accomplishing all of the 67 New England 4,000 foot mountains.
