Discover Summer Camp at the Y

Kick off a rad summer adventure! Registration opens at 10:00 am on December 3 for returning families. Day camp registration will open for members on January 7 and on February 4 for non members.

Located behind The Granite YMCA of Goffstown, the grounds of Camp Halfmoon spans across ten beautiful wooded acres. Camp activities are designed to be age appropriate and include drama at the amphitheater, archery at the archery range, nature exploration throughout camp, sports on our two activity fields, adventure on the high and low ropes course, arts and crafts, swimming, and more! Our staff is comprised of experienced counselors, many of whom were Camp Halfmoon campers and participated in the competitive leadership training program. All of these dedicated professionals are carefully screened and trained to foster the Y’s four core values. Weekly themes add to the excitement and adventure.

The Granite YMCA of Goffstown offers a variety of day camp programs including traditional camp, specialty camps, gymnastics academies, tennis academies, adventure clubs, teen trip, leadership camps, and more. Learn about all of our camp offerings below!

  • Camp Halfmoon

    Entering 1st - 8th Grade

    Located on 10 wooded acres, Camp Halfmoon is our traditional – ACA accredited camp experience at The Granite YMCA of Goffstown. This camp offers activities for all ages, including arts, field games, character development, archery, climbing elements, crafts, swimming and more! We also have before care, after care, and a weekly BBQ for all campers, all at no additional cost.

  • Specialty Camps

    Ages 7 - 14

    Want to try something new this summer? Our specialty camps are great for campers interested in exploring activities such as fort building, photography, archery, STEAM, cooking, art, theater, and more. A typical day starts off with specialty activities, followed by lunch and additional activities like swimming, structured games, and more.

  • Teen Trip

    Entering 7th - 11th Grade

    Teen Trip is more than just a camp; it’s a summer vacation! Teens will spend their summer traveling the northern New England area exploring all the fun adventures it holds. From boogie boarding at the beach and catching a game at the Worcester Red Sox to making the plunge down Superman’s 221 foot drop at Six Flags New England and enjoying the occasional arcade and challenge courses. There is never a dull moment at camp!

  • Gymnastics & Ninja Academies

    Entering Preschool - 12th Grade

    Gymnastics, cheerleading, and ninja, oh my! Whether you are an aspiring gymnast or just think all of that dancing and tumbling looks like a blast, our gymnastics and cheerleading academies are perfect for those of all skills and abilities. We also offer a specialty ninja academy that gives campers the chance to experience what it’s like to be on American Ninja Warrior with our Gymnastics 2 Ninja System and other warrior obstacles!

    Adventure Clubs

    Entering 5th - 10th Grade

    Adventure is out there! During adventure camps at The Granite YMCA of Goffstown, campers may go on exciting local hikes, take thrilling bike rides, go kayaking, try rock climbing, or go on other fun trips. Adventurous activities vary by program.

    Tennis Academies

    Entering 1st - 11th Grade

    Ready for an exciting summer of tennis? Campers receive instruction individualized to the camper’s tennis skill level on playing strategies, basic techniques, and rules. Instructors emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, and etiquette.

  • Leadership Camps

    Entering 8th - 11th Grade

    The Y’s Leader In Training (LIT) and Counselor In Training (CIT) programs are designed to build leaders both at camp and within their community. LITs will participate in a number of activities that are aimed at building their own unique leadership skills, team building, values sessions, positive role modeling, and problem solving. CITs will be brought through safety and leadership trainings and experience various roles in camp setting.

MEET THE STAFF

    Veronica Parker

    Camp Halfmoon Director

    Veronica grew up in Peterborough, NH and attended Plymouth State University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She spent the past seven summers working at the Peterborough Recreation Department’s summer camp as a counselor for two years and then served as the Camp Director for five years. Veronica hopes to help make core memories for campers and participants along with giving campers the opportunity to find and explore their interests and watch them grow along the way.

    Kristin Carlson

    Teen Trip Director

    Kristin joined the YMCA Allard Center team in the fall of 2016. She holds an MBA in Athletic Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. She began her Y career in Merrimack as a camp counselor almost a decade ago. In 2021, Kristin became the Assistant Child Care Director and most recently became the director for Teen Trip in 2023. She strives to help children and teens learn and grow through the Y mission and experiences in programs and at camp.

    Anna Church

    Gymnastics Academy Director

    Anna grew up in the Y taking her first gymnastics class as an eager five year old and learning to play basketball on Saturdays at the Manchester Y. Anna did gymnastics at the Goffstown branch, then worked her way up to the competitive team, became a staff member and now is Assistant Director of the department that she started practicing in, almost 30 years ago! Anna was the Assistant Gymnastics Academy Director last summer and is looking forward to her first summer as the Academy Director.

    Katie Welch

    Adventure Club Director

    A New Hampshire native, Katie graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Exercise Science. She is certified in various group class formats and fitness specialties in addition to being a personal trainer. Before beginning her career at The Granite YMCA in 2012, Katie spent many years working in the cycling and outdoor retail industry. She has a great passion for fitness in all forms, and likes to bring an element of fun to her work.

    Brenda Marcotte

    Tennis Academy Director

    Brenda started playing Tennis at the Allard Center in 2014. She fell in love with the game and found herself working at The Granite YMCA’s Tennis Department a short time later as an Administrative Assistant. Brenda was named Assistant Camp Director for Tennis in 2016. In 2019, Brenda took on the role of Tennis Camp Director, overseeing all aspects of the summer tennis program. Brenda enjoys playing socially and is also on competitive tennis teams at the Y.
