Welcome Laura Prisco
The YMCA of Strafford County is pleased to announce that Laura Prisco has been named as its branch director.
“Laura comes to us with 25 years of experience with the YMCA,” said Michele Sheppard, Chief Operating Officer of The Granite YMCA. “We are thrilled to welcome her to our association, and are confident that she will be a great addition to our leadership team.”
Ms. Prisco joins the association from YMCA Cape Cod in Barnstable, MA where she served as Chief Operating Officer for the past two years. In that role, she was responsible for supervising a full facility branch, Youth Center and Day Camp on 50 acres of land in Sandwich MA, and five off-site childcare centers across Cape Cod. Prior to her role as Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Prisco held a number of leadership roles, serving as the Associate Executive Director of the South Shore YMCA’s Quincy branch, and most recently the Executive Director of the Gleason Family YMCA in Wareham, MA for over 8 years.
“I’ve been fortunate to have been part of the YMCA movement for much of my professional career,” said Ms. Prisco. “I’m looking forward to getting to know the greater Rochester community and working alongside other local leaders to make this community the best it can be”.
Ms. Prisco holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Science Education from University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. Additionally, she was a tri-captain of University of New Hampshire’s Woman’s Ice Hockey team for two years.
“One of our goals is to enrich the lives of youth and families in need, throughout our service area, through quality programs and services,” said Ms. Prisco. “My hope is that the YMCA of Strafford County will be impactful and proactive in Rochester and the surrounding communities in our quest to assist other local organizations with supportive programming.”
